7-14 SEPTEMBER 2024 A-CAT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

The Centro Velico Punta Ala asd and the PuntAla Camp & Resort will once again be at the forefront for the last sailing event of the season, the most spectacular and exciting one: the A-Class Catamaran World Championship. The international class has once again chosen our facility as the official venue for the event and as a village for athletes, jury members, and race committee, as well as press, supporters, family, and race assistants.

Over 180 sailors from all over the world will be participating. After almost 10 years, these "Ferraris" of the sea will once again be racing between Punta Ala and Follonica: the A-Class is an ultra-light, incredibly fast, and "flying" boat. There will be internationally renowned athletes present, including some from the America's Cup teams, which drew inspiration from the A-Class for the design of new boats. We will be assisted at sea by local sailing clubs, as well as volunteers and staff from the Sailing Center and PuntAla Camp & Resort.

Given the significant impact that such a high-value technical and sporting event could have on our internal organization, we are developing extraordinary logistics to access the facility to minimize any inconvenience upon arrival, at the public beach, and other areas related to the races. This reorganization might also lead to disruptions in some sports services or limitations in dining services during social events (inauguration, gala dinner, awards, and other social events).
